These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of Kodand.com and its associated browser extensions and Android apps (together, the "Service"), operated by Kodand ("we", "our", or "us") from India. By using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

Kodand is a free English–Hindi–Gujarati dictionary, word-meaning lookup, and quiz website. There are no user accounts and nothing for sale on the Service.

Use of the Service

Kodand is provided free of charge for personal, educational, and informational use. You do not need to register or create an account to use it.

The dictionary meanings, definitions, grammar notes, and quiz answers on Kodand are provided for general reference. They may contain errors or omissions and are not professional, legal, medical, or other expert advice. You should not rely on them as a substitute for professional guidance.

Extensions and apps

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use our free browser extensions and Android apps to look up word meanings for your own personal use, in accordance with these Terms. You may not redistribute, resell, or commercially exploit the extensions, apps, or the data they provide.

Acceptable use

When using the Service, you agree that you will not:

• Scrape, harvest, bulk-download, or otherwise systematically extract the dictionary data or other content;
• Copy, redistribute, resell, or commercially exploit the content or data without our written permission;
• Attempt to disrupt, overload, or interfere with the Service, its servers, or its security;
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of the Service except where permitted by law; or
• Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of these Terms.

Intellectual property

The Service and its content, features, and design are owned by Kodand or its licensors and are protected by applicable copyright, trademark, and other laws. You may use the content for your own personal, non-commercial reference. You may not copy, modify, reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from the content for any other purpose without our prior written permission.

Donations

Kodand is free, and we do not sell products or services. If you wish to support the Service, you may make a voluntary donation on our Support Us page. Donations are optional and non-refundable, and are processed by PayPal under PayPal's own user agreement and policies. There are no orders, subscriptions, or payment plans on Kodand.

Advertising and third-party links

The Service displays advertising (through Google AdSense) and may contain links to third-party websites and services that we do not operate or control. We are not responsible for the content, accuracy, products, or practices of any third party. Your use of any third-party website or service is at your own risk and subject to that third party's own terms. See our Privacy Policy for how advertising data is handled.

Disclaimer of warranties

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure, or that the dictionary meanings, definitions, or quiz answers are accurate, complete, or current. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all implied warranties, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Kodand will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or any loss of data or profit, arising out of or in connection with your use of, or inability to use, the Service. Because the Service is provided free of charge, you use it at your own risk.

We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time without notice. We may also update these Terms from time to time to reflect changes to the Service or applicable law; when we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Your continued use of the Service after changes are posted means you accept the updated Terms.

Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of India, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Any disputes arising out of or relating to the Service or these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in India.
